LUCKNOW: Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) has introduced a new facility to receive property tax bills on WhatsApp. Now, property owners can get their property tax details and a direct payment link through the official (blue tick) WhatsApp number of LMC.
By clicking the “Pay Now” link, they can access their property details and choose a payment method like Net Banking, Debit/Credit Card, or UPI. After successful payment, a receipt can be downloaded from the link in the message.
Other payment options include cash, cheque, or BBPS at zonal offices, online payments via the LMC website lmc.up.nic.in, and payments through HDFC and Axis Bank branches.
For first-time payers, a new property needs to be registered on the website by entering the mobile number and house ID, followed by receiving login credentials via SMS. “This initiative aims to make property tax payment more convenient, secure, and accessible for citizens,” said Inderjit Singh, municipal commissioner.
