HYDERABAD: The Telangana govt on Thursday launched the slot booking system for non-agricultural property registrations at 22 sub-registration offices across the state. Officials said there was a good response to the slot booking, with as many as 626 slots (of 1,056 available slots) booked on the first day.
Revenue and registration minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said slot booking started on a pilot basis at 22 sub-registrar offices, and the system would be extended to the entire state based on the outcome of the result. “Reforms are being introduced in every department, keeping in view the benefits to the people and also hassle-free services,” the minister said.
While expressing happiness about the overwhelming response, the minister asked the department officials to give wide publicity to the slot booking system as it would reduce the waiting time of the people at the offices and also curb the brokers’ system.
At the 22 SRO offices, the office timings were divided into 48 slots, and if there was any emergency, some registrations would be done between 5 and 6 pm. The govt decided to appoint additional sub-registrar offices where there was a heavy rush.
