BENGALURU: Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Wednesday announced the launch of a citywide property record (e-khata) campaign starting July 1, aimed at streamlining land documentation across Bengaluru.

As part of the initiative, a pilot project will be rolled out in the constituency of Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda, where 25,000 property records have already been digitised.

Shivakumar stated that e-khata documents would be delivered to citizens’ doorsteps throughout the month, marking a significant push towards property regularisation and transparency.

“Bengaluru has nearly 25 lakh properties, but only 5 lakh owners have uploaded the necessary documents so far. The campaign is focused on bringing the remaining 20 lakh properties under the e-khata system,” the Deputy CM said.

When questioned about the status of B khata regularisation, Shivakumar confirmed that the issue had been discussed at the state cabinet level.

“We are reviewing the legal aspects. Once those are resolved, a formal announcement will be made,” he added.
