Two unsafe Margao buildings to be razed after 1.5-year delay

After prolonged delays and legal challenges, the demolition of the unsafe ‘Cabecca de Calconde’ building in Margao is imminent, following a collector’s order prompted by public safety concerns. The PWD has shortlisted agencies for the demolition, pending the final vacation of occupants and resolution of a high court matter. Concerns linger regarding potential redevelopment plans after demolition.
