LUCKNOW: The Lucknow Development Authority has introduced a digital databank to simplify the process of map approval, eliminating the need for applicants to chase multiple departments for no objection certificates (NOCs).
The database includes details of land owned by the district panchayat, trusts, Nazul, and the municipal corporation. This will allow officials to instantly identify the ownership of any plot. The applicants will now be required to obtain NOCs only from the concerned department, ending the earlier practice of running around for multiple clearances.
In cases where approvals are needed from agencies such as the Metro, fire department, airport authority, or archaeological survey, a two-week time limit has been fixed. If no response is received within that period, LDA will move ahead with the map approval on its own.
An LDA senior official said that during review meetings, it was repeatedly noted that several applications remained pending because applicants were unsure of which department’s NOC was required. To resolve this, LDA has now compiled land records of all villages in Lucknow into a centralised system.
