LUCKNOW: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday said the stamp duty concessions recently extended by the state govt to women will now also be applicable to ex-servicemen and persons with disabilities (PwDs).

He said this during a review meeting of the department of stamp and registration.

As per this, women, PwDs and ex-servicemen will get a relief of 1% on stamp duty, up to a maximum of Rs 1 lakh. The maximum value of the property on which a 1% rebate will be allowed is Rs 1 crore, and the cap on the rebate has been increased from Rs 10,000 to Rs 1 lakh.

The CM further said based on the report from the pilot project implemented in five districts, e-payment should now be made mandatory for registration fees exceeding Rs 20,000. “There is a need to implement Aadhaar authentication to curb fraud. Similarly, for allottees of authorities, the registration process should be simplified by implementing an e-registration system through a single-window platform,” he said.

The CM directed the department to immediately complete the recruitment process for vacant positions. He also highlighted the need to consider other options for stamp sales and rationalise vendor commissions and suggested that stamp duty and registration fees should be waived for leasing small and medium enterprises for up to 10 years.

Stamp and registration minister Ravindra Jaiswal informed the CM that 99% of the digitisation of registered deeds from 2002 to 2017 has been completed, and the next phase of work has started.

“At present, over 98% of registration work is being conducted through e-stamps.

Discrepancies have been resolved by revising the valuation lists in various districts, and CCTV cameras are being installed to strengthen security in sub-registration offices,” Jaiswal said.
