JAIPUR: Jaipur Municipal Corporation Heritage (JMC-H) Wednesday demolished two dilapidated buildings in Walled City of Jaipur. These buildings were located at Maru Chowk and Nagauri Chowk of Johari Bazaar Road.

“We selected 14 buildings under the Kishanpole zone initially. Technical experts went to the spots and, after a detailed study, identified seven buildings that needed to be demolished immediately. We started the demolition drive,” said Dilip Bhambhani, deputy commissioner of the zone.

Besides demolishing the two buildings, the JMC-H also sealed another building that is in a dilapidated condition.

“We made temporary accommodations for the residents of these three buildings,” Bhambhani added.

Meanwhile, JMC-H mayor Kusum Yadav planted 201 Champa saplings in the green belt of Kishanpole market Wednesday. Commissioner Nidhi Patel, garden committee chairman Poonam Sharma, and garden branch deputy commissioner Monica Soni took part in the plantation drive.

In another event, JMC-H organised ‘Swachhata Ki Paathshala’ at Vijay Children Academy located in Ward 25 of Hawa Mahal zone Wednesday. The main objective of the programme was to increase awareness about cleanliness among the students and to make them aware of the importance of cleanliness.

“Children were given information about waste segregation (separating wet and dry waste), less use of polythene, and environmental protection,” a press release by JMC-H said.
