NOIDA: Noida Authority will conduct a detailed topographic survey across key stretches of the city to identify land availability, mark boundaries, and expand its land bank for the development of new sectors in the future.
The process to select an agency is underway, and applications are open till Sept 16.
According to officials, this exercise will help establish the actual status of land parcels, enabling the Authority to plan sector development in a more systematic and transparent manner.
“It is an important study that will guide both present and future development,” an official said, adding that the survey will form the baseline for upcoming the projects in the region.
The survey will cover large stretches along the Yamuna Expressway and Noida Expressway corridors. Specifically, it will span sectors 144 to 148 and sectors 162 to 150, including both sides of the drain running parallel to the expressway. Additionally, areas around the Hindon River and the internal drain near Sector 150 will also be part of the study.
The selected agency will map land surface features in detail, examining aspects such as height, depth, size, and location.
The comprehensive report will reveal the status of vacant land parcels, identify areas under encroachment, and highlight land that cannot be developed due to natural constraints like water bodies. This will not only help increase the Authority’s land bank but also prevent future disputes over ownership and encroachment.
Officials noted that Sector 147 has been prioritised for development, and the survey will provide clarity on the land’s readiness for construction and infrastructure work.
Once the report is finally submitted, the Authority will be able to chalk out a clear strategy for how much land is usable for residential, commercial, or institutional purposes, and how much needs to be preserved for ecological balance.
The topographic survey is expected to play a crucial role in shaping Noida’s expansion strategy, especially as demand for land near the expressway and upcoming infrastructure projects, including the Noida International Airport, continues to rise, officials added.
