NOIDA: Greater Noida Authority has issued a fine of Rs 25,000 to Amrapali Golf Homes Society, a high-rise society in Greater Noida West‘s Sector 4, for poor waste management.

During an inspection, additional CEO Shrilakshmi VS said the health department team found piles of garbage scattered across the premises and warned the AOA representatives and the society’s maintenance staff to comply with Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016.

Under SWM Rules, a bulk waste generator (BWG)—any residential complex, commercial establishment, or institution that produces more than 100 kg of solid waste per day—is required to manage their waste at the source.

BWGs must segregate garbage into biodegradable, dry or recyclable, and domestic hazardous categories before handing it over or processing it. They must treat the biodegradable portion on their premises and are prohibited from littering or burning waste.
