GHAZIABAD: Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation has extended the property tax rebate deadline by one month, allowing consumers to avail a 20% rebate until Oct 31. Initially set for July, the deadline was previously extended to Sept.

A GMC official, meanwhile, said that the corporation aims to maximise its revenue by extending the rebate deadline on property tax.

“After Oct, the rebate will be slashed by 10%, which the consumers can avail themselves of for another one month, which is Nov 2025. For Dec and Jan 2026, the rebate will be 5%. After that, no rebate will be offered, and a consumer paying property tax after March 2026 will have a fine levied on tax defaulters,” the official said.

Over 5.50 lakh consumers come under the ambit of the tax bracket in the city. While the state govt for the FY 2025-26 has set a target of Rs 600 crore, GMC hopes to mop up at least 80% of the target.
