PANAJI: The Goa Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) has announced the availability of 28 industrial plots on lease across five industrial estates in Goa. The industrial plots offer a “strategic” opportunity to entrepreneurs, said GIDC managing director Pravimal Abhishek in the notice announcing the move.
The 28 industrial plots at Pissurlem, Honda, Sanguem, Panchwadi, and Kundaim are for new industrial investments as well as for the expansion of existing industrial units. The plots vary in size from 907sqm to 2,689sqm, catering to small and medium-scale manufacturing operations.
Panchwadi Industrial Estate accounts for the largest share with 10 plots on offer, followed by Sanguem with seven. Pissurlem and Honda have three and five plots respectively, while Kundaim, considered a prime industrial hub, has two plots listed.
The GIDC has fixed the lease rate for plots in Pissurlem, Honda, Sanguem, and Panchwadi at Rs 1,070 per sqm. In contrast, plots at Kundaim command a slight premium at Rs 2,120 per sqm, nearly double the rate elsewhere, reflecting the location’s strategic location and established infrastructure.
The advertisement states that allotments will be governed by the Goa Industrial Development Corporation (Allotment, Transfer and Sub-Lease) Regulations, 2023, which are available on the GIDC website. The deadline to apply for these industrial plots is Oct 15.
The GIDC has positioned the offer as part of its ongoing drive to attract industrial investment and spur job creation in Goa, citing the “strategic location and potential for growth” of the listed estates.
