BENGALURU: The maps showing the boundaries of the newly-formed wards of the five city corporations under the Greater Bengaluru Authority area are now available on the official GBA website.
Citizens can view and download them from bbmp(dot)gov(dot)in/gba-corporations-delimitation-2025/index(dot)html. They can search for their wards in their respective city corporations and assembly constituencies.
The delimitation was undertaken by the commission that included GBA chief commissioner Maheshwar Rao and special commissioner (administration, revenue and IT) Munish Moudgil.
Bengaluru West city corporation has the highest number of wards of 111. Bengaluru East city corporation consists of 50 wards, the lowest among the five corporations. The delimitation exercise was based on the 2011 census data, which Rao said “is not a cause for concern.” “The population has grown everywhere,” he said.
The commission aimed to include a population of around 20,000 per ward, with a permissible deviation of 25%.
Addressing the likely concerns of residents within the east corporation limits, Maheshwar Rao said the smaller number of wards is unlikely to affect the region’s development. “The number after delimitation is higher than the previous number of wards in that part of the city,” he said.
