BENGALURU: The prospect of Bengaluru getting a second international airport is set to get closer to reality, with a high-level team of Airports Authority of India (AAI) officials on Tuesday visiting the three designated locations finalised by the state govt.
According to sources in the infrastructure development department, the AAI officials’ team, led by Vikram Singh, general manager (operations) at the corporate headquarters of AAI, held a meeting with the state govt officials Monday.
The Karnataka State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (KSIIDC) managing director Khushboo Goel Chowdhary briefed the AAI team about the proposed three places identified by the govt for setting up the airport. The team is expected to visit the locations, including two off the Kanakapura Road and another off the Nelamangala-Kunigal Road, and subsequently hold talks with infrastructure development minister MB Patil.
