GHAZIABAD: Like driving licence and passport services, GDA will soon allot slots to buyers for registration of their properties to streamline the process.
On an average, the Authority processes over 80 registries a month, which is at least 11 a day. The bulk of its revenue also comes from the sale of plots and flats.
“In the 2024-25 financial year, GDA mopped up Rs 312 crore from the sale and auction of plots under residential and commercial heads. This is the biggest revenue source for the GDA. To streamline the registration process for the convenience of buyers, we will soon introduce a slot-based registry system,” GDA vice-chairperson Atul Vats said.
Once implemented, buyers will have to apply online for date and time slots on GDA’s portal after collating their documents through a checklist. Next, they have to reach the GDA office at the allotted slot to complete the paperwork. Currently, buyers have to visit the GDA office multiple times to get registries done. The process is complex and time-consuming.
“There have been incidents when buyers had to return without their work getting done after waiting in line for hours. This is frustrating for them and adversely impacts our revenue as well. With the new system, buyers can choose a convenient date and time for completing the process,” Vats added.
The Authority has already started upgrading its property management system on its portal and is likely to roll out the slot system over the next few months.
