MUMBAI: The state govt on Thursday assured to increase monthly rent to Rs 30,000 from Rs 20,000 to the tenants of its dangerously dilapidated cessed buildings in Mumbai for alternate accommodation while they are reconstructed.
It also assured to cancel no objection certificate (NoC) of the developers who have failed to start redevelopment of the cessed building under Development Control Regulation 33(7).
The assurances were made by minister of state for urban development Pankaj Bhoyar in the state assembly.
“The govt will seek clarification from the developers and revoke the notices of those who have failed to start redevelopment even after three years,” Bhoyar said.
