NOIDA: Noida Authority teams have been deputed at Salarpur village and adjoining areas to prevent illegal construction. Officials said illegal construction was reported on plots numbered 728–735 and 745–752, with some buildings rising as high as seven floors without approval in the village.

The field teams, comprising five managers, an assistant manager, four junior engineers, 20 field staff, and two police personnel, have been deployed for daily inspections. These teams will submit reports to the senior manager of Work Circle 8, ensuring close supervision and swift action against encroachers.

The crackdown targets 39 developers who constructed over 60 unauthorised buildings on 24 plots, including flats priced from Rs 30 lakh to 65 lakh, on both notified and acquired land. Most of these flats were already booked, despite the illegal status of the constructions.

In July, the Authority issued notices to the developers and pasted them on the buildings. However, the notices were removed, and construction continued covertly. In response, the Authority formed a dedicated team to halt all activity and take action under land mafia regulations. Teams supported by police visited the site, issuing notices directly on existing and under-construction buildings. The notices directed encroachers to remove illegal constructions within a week or present their case to the Authority.

Authority CEO Lokesh M said such encroachments disrupt planned urban development, create legal complications, and pose risks for buyers. “Purchasing property here could lead to financial losses, as these buildings lack legal approval and are liable for demolition,” he said.

The drive forms part of the Authority’s broader effort to curb unauthorised development across Noida, with similar actions planned in nearby areas. The CEO said a letter will also be written to the district administration, urging it to take action against developers using groundwater illegally.
