NEW DELHI: More than 4,000 members of Revanta Multi State CGHS Ltd Society marched to the DM (South West) office Monday, demanding a halt to the auction of their land procured for constructing flats for them. The sale was ordered by a Rera court.

According to the protesting members, the society was registered in June 2014 by two promoters, along with five others. People were invited to join by paying the membership fee and land cost as per the size of flats yet to be constructed. They were told they could pay construction costs and development charges later. The total land under the society is 44 acres, spread across three locations in west Delhi.

However, when the flats were not delivered after four years, some members demanded their money back. A few approached the Dwarka court in 2020, which transferred the case to the Rera court. The Rera court asked the society management to refund the money with interest.

“As per the order, the district administration has been asked to sell the land and refund the money with interest to 92 members who moved court. We don’t want the court order to be implemented because other members of the society were not given any hearing,” said Capt Mahendra Singh, general secretary of the society’s ad hoc committee. “Taking cognizance of the situation, the sub-district magistrate HQ, Kapashera, assured all possible cooperation to the delegation of the members,” he added.
